August 25, 2019: representatives from Somalia Non-state Actors (SONSA) participated a civil society organizations consultative meeting in Mogadishu Organized by IIDA organization. The discussion point of the meeting was to reveal their expression towards a latter that the Kenya government sent to the United Nations Security Council.
The demand of Kenya government is to list Alshabab as international Al-Qaida group in the resolution of 1267, which seems to be affected the humanitarian activities in the areas that controlled AS in Somalia.
At the end of the meeting, civil society organizations in Somalia made a press release. CSO urge to the United Nations Security Council to reject that Kenya-backed resolution which can be an obstacle to the humanitarian agencies at a time when huge amount of Somali people are facing hunger.
